The knowledge of storytelling I gained starts some years ago, perhaps when I was seven years old. When my grandfather first began telling me stories, he began with animal stories. Today I continue to tell myself stories that were told to me. I tell them to myself through my heart and my mind.
Although my grandfather is not alive, today his vision and knowledge about the path live in me. It is through past-on power of wisdom that I still recapture some of these stories. We are large family; many aunties, uncles, cousins and so on. Being that the family I was born into was big, I never missed chances of hearing a story each day while in Sudan.
There was wisdom in stories; they help us see beyond the horizon. Stories told by elders left me vibrant unforgettable scenes and beauty of African bush and animals that were attached to our lives. Please visit here to learn more about stories that are coming from Awer Bul.
